Shawn Crochet
Shawn Crochet has lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming for over 20 years. He has a wife, Michelle, and daughters, Emilie and Isabelle. He has been writing since he was a kid, creating plays in his grandmother’s Louisiana living room and writing short stories for contests, school and just for fun. Growing up, he couldn’t get enough of Choose Your Own Adventure books, and his cinematic influences included Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Labyrinth, Monster Squad and the Universal Horror Classics. As a teen, Say Anything, Empire Records and Pump Up the Volume helped shape him into adulthood, and Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, Mel Brooks, Cameron Crowe, Robert Rodriguez and Kevin Smith helped round out his film-making palette. He wrote his first full-length screenplay, Wolfsbane, soon to be a novel, in college at the University of Wyoming in the early 2000s. He jumped into film-making in 2002 with some friends (including Jerry) and local acquaintances, and in 2004 he wrote and co-directed the full-length feature Wicked Season, a passion project he and Jerry created about the historic Atlas Theatre in Cheyenne. Since then, he has filmed commercials for Cheyenne Little Theatre and numerous short films with friends and various film groups.
